Student to Employed Software Developer in 22 weeks

With NO UPFRONT cost, go from full time student to fully employed software developer in only 22 weeks.

For once, the old saying “when it sounds too good to be true, it usually is” does not apply.

A few days Ago I came across an amazing opportunity which at first seemed like it was too good to be true. As I read on, it kept getting better and better.

Every sentence and paragraph I read made it seem like it was really an opportunity that should not be missed.

Microverse – Is an online learning platform and community that enrolls people willing to join as full time students to learn Software Development.

The Goal of Microverse is to turn you into a Professional Remote Software Developer.

https://www.microverse.org/

Microverse provides free online education to full time Microverse students, until you get a job as a software developer. They will not charge you a cent, until you get a paying job. At this point you are meant to pay them back 15% of your salary. The 15% payments, will not go on forever. Once you have paid them a total of $15,000 you are no longer obligated to continue with the 15% monthly payments.

One of the first and most key things that jumped off the page when I started reading this was the Remote work Aspect. I love the idea of not having to physically be in a place to get work done.

Getting Into The Meat of It

At this point I will bet you have more questions. These are some of the ones I had when I first learned about Microverse.

  • What is the cost of the program?
  • what are the requirements to sign up?
  • how long is the program?
  • what will I learn?
  • How will I learn the content?
  • what happens if I don’t get a Job after the course?

My Questions Answered

What Will it Cost me?

The full course from Microverse is completely free of charge until you get a paying job as a software developer. Once you have the job, Microverse will expect a payment of 15% of your monthly salary every month until you pay them $15,000.

At any point, should you stop working, let’s say to pursue higher education, Microverse will not expect you to make the 15% monthly payment. Your payments are only to be made while you are working as a software developer.

What do I need to get started?

To get started you must be Fluent in both written and spoken english. You must be willing to dedicate yourself full time from 8am to 5pm (your local time) from Monday to Friday for the 22 week period.

You must own your own computer that you will use to code and learn, and must have a stable 24/7 internet connection.

How long is the Program?

The Full Software Development course is 22 weeks long. In this time you are expected to dedicate yourself from Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.

What will I learn in the program?

In the Pre-Course you will learn how to code and develop in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Ruby and Ruby on Rails. The Full Program will go deeper in these programming languages and will guide you through over 30 Projects to give you a deeper understanding of these languages.

The goal of the course is to get you to a point where you can get your first job as a Software Developer.

How will i learn it?

Microverse uses a Collaborative approach to learning. You will be assigned a coding partner to work with on real world projects. This is meant to help with accountability and support. You will also be assigned a mentor to help you through and give you advice when you need it.

The course work and collaboration tools are all made available online. This means you can complete the program from anywhere in the world, as long as you have an internet connection.

What if I don’t get a job after all of this?

No need to worry. Once you have completed the course, Microverse helps you get a job by training you on how to interview well and how to pass coding interviews. Your Mentor will help you improve your resume (CV) so that you present well and have the best chance at landing that Job.

Adding a Little More to it All

The offering is broken up into 2 parts. The Pre-Course for beginners who are new to software development and coding. The 22 week Full Program is for those with at-least 3 months of experience with coding.

The Pre-Course is a self paced introduction to software and web development. This is a natural place to start before diving in and making the Full time commitment. This will allow you to get a feel of how Microverse has set up their learning environment. You will also get a feel of their collaborative model. This teaches you skills that you will require to get through the Full Program.

The 22 Week program is more demanding. It requires full time commitment 5 days a week from 8am to 5pm for 22 weeks. It will also require passing a coding challenge to prove that you are ready to take on the course. Microverse places value in teamwork and collaboration and builds this into the learning model to prepare you for work as a software developer.

On top of it all, I find it appealing to have the option to get a paying Job while working remotely. Microverse can help you find work in the traditional sense, where you report to an office or can help you get work as a remote developer.

Let’s bring it All together

Finding a fully paid education program in this day and age is hard, Finding a fully sponsored Tech Education program is even more rare. When I came across this offering I could not wait to share it with as many people as I could.

I believe this course can change the lives of many people. It can be that first, and most important step towards achieving the Financial Freedom we all deserve.
